If Youre Worried About Losing Hair Then You Need To Read This

By: Bob Simons

Losing hair? Don?t fret ?It?s absolutely normal that you shed hair each and every day. It is a part of everyone?s normal hair growth cycle. However, if a person loses excessive amounts of hair, then it definitely becomes a matter of concern. Hair loss can have some real adverse effects on men, women and even in the children.

Once of the common causes of hair loss is hormonal problems. By hormonal problems, I mean that your thyroid glands might be overactive or underactive. Under such circumstances, proper thyroid treatment can help treat and reverse your condition.

Hair loss in women may also occur in the post pregnancy period and is related to hormonal changes. When a woman is pregnant some hormones in the body keeps their hair from falling out and after the birth of their baby, when the normal hair growth cycle returns, these hairs then fall out.

Hair loss may also occur as an after effect from taking some medications. You?ll stop hair loss when you stop taking the particular medicine that is causing the hair loss. Anti-coagulants, medicines to treat gout, cancer, birth control pills, antidepressants, Vitamin A and chemotherapy are some of the medications that usually lead to hair loss.

For men, the first sign of hair loss is a receding hair line that occurs as hair slowly decreases from the forehead area and usually in need of hair replacement. If not treated early, the loss continues and recedes faster as time passes.

There are a number of reasons for hair loss in men, some of which are based on one?s heredity. Others may be due to hormonal imbalances. Whatever the cause, it is a good idea to consult a dermatologist to discuss the reason for your hair loss and the best course of hair restoration treatments.

In today?s world, with its focus on hair as an essential part of beauty, hair loss is not only embarrassing but also lowers a person?s self-image and confidence. Hair loss goes unnoticed at times, until the shower drain is filled with more hair than usual. In such a case, the person is most likely suffering from alopecia, or gradual hair loss.

There are many causes for gradual hair loss. They include stress, overexposure to sunlight, and hormonal imbalances. Overexposure to chemicals, such as when perming your hear, hair styling mediums and coloring, is also a major cause of hair loss. But the most important thing to know is what can be done to prevent this.

Temporary hair loss is often caused by extreme stress, illness or being on certain medications. This is temporary and will simply stop once the reason for the hair loss stops. Hair loss caused by some scalp conditions can be cured by anti-fungal treatments.

There are many anti-fungal hair loss treatments available on the market. People suffering from alopecia areata can be treated by steroids and other drugs taken in mild doses. There are many other prescription drugs like Finasteride, which is only for men and Minoxidil-for both men and women that work by rubbing the lotion into the scalp daily. Most hair loss treatment products are easily available at your local drugstore. However, at this time, there is no treatment available for those suffering from androgenic alopecia.

The best method to prevent hair loss is to realize the situation in its early stages and to take the necessary action to prevent further hair loss. Early intervention is the key to stopping hair loss before it becomes very noticeable.
